How many sessions a year do you offer?

What kind of educational background is required for admission?
You must have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Benedictine’s Online MBA does not require a undergraduate major in business administration.

Is there a thesis required?
No. The Online MBA program does not require a thesis.

Can the GMAT requirement be waived?
Yes. Applicants to the Online MBA program can request a GMAT waiver under the following conditions:

  • Applicants already possess an advanced degree.
  • Applicants have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2.
  • Applicants who have a cumulative undergraduate GPA from 2.5 to 3.1 can request a GMAT waiver by completing our MBA 520 and MBA 541 courses with a grade of “B” or higher.
All GMAT waiver requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

How many total credits are required?
The Online MBA program consists of 64 quarter credit-hours.

How many courses do I take per academic term?
Most adult students who work fulltime take one online course per eight-week session. The Online MBA program offers six academic sessions per year, which means that most students take six courses per year.

Which foundation courses are eligible for course waiver based on equivalent coursework?
Undergraduate course waivers for graduate course work is limited to 16 quarter hours of credit. Course waivers require two comparable upper division (i.e. junior and senior level) undergraduate courses, completed with a “B” or higher. The five courses listed below may be eligible for course waiver:

  • MBA 500 – Financial Accounting
  • MBA 510 – Economics
  • MBA 530 – Organizational Behavior
  • MBA 539 – International Business
  • MBA 541 – Analytical Tools for Management Decisions

Can I transfer in equivalent course work?
Yes, up to 32 quarter credit hours of equivalent graduate coursework completed with the grade of “B” or better within the last five years at a regionally accredited college or university will be reviewed for transfer credit.

Is advising available for all students?
Yes. Each student receives a customized curriculum plan for the Online MBA program and can set up a telephone appointment to speak with an advisor whenever assistance is needed.
